Drug Description

Proventil Syrup is a sympathomimetic (beta agonist) bronchodilator. It relaxes the smooth muscle in the airway. Consequently the air flows in and out of the lungs more effortlessly and it improves breathing.

Indication

Albuterol Syrup is indicated to treat bronchospasm (wheezing, breathing problems) in patients who have asthma or certain other airway diseases. This medicine may also be used for other diseases not mentioned here.

How to use Albuterol Syrup

Proventil Syrup should be taken as recommended by your doctor. To know about exact dosing instructions follow the label on the medication. You may take Albuterol Syrup with or without food.

Make use of a measuring device marked for medication dosing. If you don't know how to measure your dose, ask your pharmacist or doctor.

You should not discontinue taking Albuterol Syrup without consulting with your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medication, you must take it the moment you remember. If it is time for your next dose, don't take another dose to make up for the missed dose.
